The Peacoat is as practical as it is stylish and warm, especially when made in Cashmere Wool like this bespoke variant.
The term Peacoat probably derived from the old Dutch of West Frisian word for Pijjekker. The Peacoat has made its origin at least in 1720 and was primarily worn by sailors. The long variant is called Bridge Coat.
The Peacoat has broad lapels, a broad collar, big buttons and vertical pockets.

One of the most luxurious variants of a coat is a Cashmere overcoat. This model is based upon the Covert Coat in Cashmere Doeskin by Holland & Sherry. Doeskin is made from the undercoat and is extra soft and isolating. Another benefit is that Cashmere is crease free, light weight and very good at regulating the moisture balance. And as a finishing touch, abalone mother of pearl buttons.
