Waistcoat Donegal
A waistcoat made from Donegal Tweed is very versatile primarily when combining it with other garments. Donegal Tweed is the Irish variant and characterized by the Knepps. These are the little bits with different colours you see in the fabric.
The nice thing about Donegal Tweed is that it is a robust fabric in appearance but it is not as rough as Harris Tweed is. This makes it very well suited to combine it for example with a pair of jeans but also with another suit or jacket for a refined business casual look. That is why it is a favourite for a wedding suit, having a well groomed yet relaxed appearance.
This waistcoat is a retro 1920’s waistcoat made from a Fawn/Dark Olive Donegal with Red/Gold Knepps from the SherryTweed collection by Holland & Sherry. The brown buttons with woodgrain gives it even more character. The waistcoat has a fabric back, making it eligible to wear without a jacket. A beautiful and practical waistcoat for those who value their wardrobe yet do not want to wear a suit.
